Is there a feasible way to take a game console somewhere to use wifi to download huge amounts of GBs of games and patches? Like taking a ps4 to a internet cafe?

In my area the ISP companys suck. So i choose to just not have internet service for my house when i feel the need for say wifi i just use my cell phone as a hot spot. The phone has 15 gb cap for wifi hot spot and when needing to download big game patches and full digital games in the area of 100-200gb+ i sol. So what i do is just take the ps4 to a friends house and in 1 night update download like 30+ games woth of updates and patches. This has been find and dandy till the friends isp started charging a surcharge on each GB over a certian cap like 100 gb.

I pay just $11 more than normal for an unlimited data cap. (I'm paying for 1Gb/s speeds, and it's killer.)

Sometimes public libraries have great internet speeds, especially if you jack into their network via Ethernet. Hospitals too.

Outside of going to Starbucks with a portable monitor and relying on spotty 3mbps wifi that everyone else is using, yeah, your best bet is to go to an internet cafe, which given the times we're in, I doubt are even open. When I didn't have wifi, or I had the Comcast caps, I just dealt with it by picking one or two really big games a month to update/download. That was it.

That hot spot speed ain't going to help you cause you are just going to get like few mbps up and down. If you can't really get any decent ISP around your area then you might have to resort to 4G LTE Router.

You could invest in a car power inverter. That would basically allow you to plug your PS4 (and a display) into the cigarette lighter jack on your car. Then go wardriving and find some free public wifi to leech off of.

Make sure to keep the car running, you don't want your PS4 to run your car battery dead.

Many public libraries have free wifi you can use as well.
