Hey everyone!
I had an account on here from 2005 but can't access it anymore (probably had my old AOL address - lol) so here I am again ! Good to see the community thriving :)
I make retro PCBs and am a long-time gaming forum poster from all the way back to the early 00s. I've been on GameSX, Sega-16, SMSpower, and a bunch of other places!

If you know the address it might well have been it is possible to recover things.

Anyway welcome back. Hopefully you don't have to cringe yourself inside out when wandering into threads featuring words like "just" and phrases like "why can't they" as they pertain to your area of expertise.

This is my old account. Anyone want to take a stab at it?

Am I getting... OLD?

I still have fucking CD's with Free AOL hours on them![/QUOTE]

Yes, we are getting old :(
fun anecdote: at one point in the 90s AOL discs accounted for a third of all CDs manufactured in the united states.

note, I heard this on Youtube (techmoan i think?) so it must be true...

AOL WHAT THE FUCK IT ISN'T EVEN THAT OLD... Or is it?

AOL has been around since the mid-90’s I think. Maybe late 90’s? It doesn’t matter, those CD’s were always bringing adware and their service sucked even back in 99’.

It could get banned from PSN but you can change your ID I think?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
