Set luma/locale/00040000001A9200.txt in my 3ds 11.4, luma 7.0.2 to
JPN JP

But it's still playing in english. Any ideas how to get the locale change working for this game, works for kirby and a couple others, so the file is just copied and pasted - and titled appropriately...

Update to Boot9Strap v1.2 and Luma3DS v8.1 then it will work

Yeah, was trying to put that off... *sigh* guess it's time to pray and follow the guide. Please tell me there's less gambling for the boot9strap update than the a9lh?
There is.
For one, B9S doesn't require downgrading, or injecting keys to NAND in order to exploit the insecure arm9loader.
It's just a signed FIRM binary that is accepted by the console as original.
There's not much that can go wrong, and AFAIK there hasn't been a single brick caused by 3ds.guide since B9S.

Just updated as suggested. Still isn't working. English only, not the forced region.

EDIT: Seems like none of my mutliregion games are being forced, like Kirby Robobo. It should just be in luma/locale/<titleid>.txt w/ JPN JP as the contents right?

No, the structure is different since Luma 7.0.
It should be in luma/titles/<titleID>/locale.txt with JPN JP inside.
Make sure that you have game patching enabled in Luma's settings.
You can also install Luma Locale Switcher (Rvn) from TitleDB, if you don't want to create text files manually.
I hope this helps.
