Well buddy, in my city I know only one person who own 3DS and in my country I think not more than 20 active 3DS owner... Anyway buddy, thanks for reply...:)

Don't lose hope^^ You see the gateway team is really working hard:) maybe you can rent the game online, or maybe in the future, we will be able to update the 3DS with a rom, who knows? Be optimistic and don't update your 3DS, because it may never happen.

I don't have it too, lol.

Well I know in India, there are a lot of American games, maybe you could import or rent one from India. it may be cheaper than importing it from America... You could also try to import it from Hong-Kong, games are not so expensive there.

I love to see ppl without clue debating about how bad piracy is.

Just one note, i was with Neimod at Static, if you dont know what it was, jut google a bit and you will realize how absurd your statments are.

I miss those times with him and Lowang, what a couple ...
I don't know him, only what he said to me in the #3dsdev chat room, which is that he doesn't want to help to prevent piracy above 4.5. If that is not his true intentions, then I still say it is mine's.

I hope gamefreak & intelligent systems help developing anti-piracy measures.

here are some ideas: create a modified crc table (hashed against the current fw & the nand contents the 3DS has, plus beggining and ending of current ROM map area -whitelisted and hardcoded-that always will be compared to any, - if any- thread that deals security tasks (like decrypting stuff), every 15 seconds. If such values aren't valid, say three or four times, 3DS closes the current game.

Why are you posting that here? This thread is about the Gateway, not about what anti-piracy measures games need to implement ;)

The 3ds already have a NX bit as well as a read only flag. So no.

what happens if nintendo traces the exact memory area gateway uses as placeholder for patching? think of a counter-patch (ie, addresses holding something they shouldn't, or expected), say as any thread from on a game cart as part of the game's code (with a newer key)?

there are lots of ways to prevent a simple raise flag, even by creating a list of all memory areas used (so blacklisted are those free).

that, and props to everyone showing love for hardware debugging.

It's not that much worse than the playstation scene except people here are a lot more open about piracy while people there pretend to hate piracy but love "backing up" games. I don't know if it's any better

So simple question. How big are the chances 5.0> are gonna be able to be downgraded or hacked?

If you're asking me, I know as much as the next guy (read: nothing). If neimod is right and GW's kernel exploit is patched in 4.5, I'd say maybe a year or two years before the next exploit and sooner if decrypted NAND dumps or RAM dumps are released to the public soon.
