HENkaku for 3.68 to release on July 1

The long awaited exploit for the PS Vita has finally been given a release date. When we first received news of the exploit, we were told it would likely release in 1-2 years, but luckily Vita hacker TheFloW mangaed to find a second exploit for 3.68 and get us an earlier release. The exploit will work on firmware versions 3.65 to 3.68 you do not need an official Sony memory card or an internet connection to use it. If you are on 3.65, you will be able to install HENkaku Ensō, but unluckily those on 3.67 and above won't be able to. I've included a guide for updating to stock 3.65 from 3.61/3.63.

3.65 is definitely the perfect firmware now, can play almost every game (will just need Maidumps of the few higher ones) and can use enso to coldboot. PSN access works too.

A reminder that I tend to have a short term memory, so work with me, ok? I'm on 3.65 OFW, do I qualify for Enso?

Thanks in advance!

Not too sure if this is the right place to post but, I have a Vita on 3.67 so I'd have to use normal Henkaku. If I install a vpk do I have to open Henkaku every time to play??

Yes. Don't update further.

Trying to get my head around this but if we can't cold boot does that mean sd2vita won't work as we can't edit the config to read the adapter on boot can we? Luckily i'm on 3.65 enso but i know a few people who may be after theirs done.

Awesome my dude! Models don't matter either, right? I'm thinking to get a Slim one. Anything to look out to? I know that its on 3.63 and it has a 8 gig card, that's all i need right? (Sorry for asking noob questions, just wanna know)
Yeah that's fine
You might wanna get an SD2Vita too with a high capacity microSD

Can you still use ps4 remote play with Henkaku?
By itself, Henkaku/Taihen/Enso don't affect that feature (any plugins may or may not)
(and for whatever it's worth, PS3 remote play works fine on the local network on both 3.60 and 3.65... not that it's that good with lag-critical games in the first place, lol)

Nice, I can't wait to install this on my PSTV! While I can't use enso because I'm at 3.68, I honestly don't mind launching Henkaku on boot (I'm already use to doing that on my PSP). Hopefully Sony doesn't patch whatever methods are required to launch Henkaku... Tubehax anyone?

Even if they do, TheFlow has a second set of kernel exploits that he's keeping to himself if Sony releases a firmware update, so if they fix this one we know we'll (likely) have a second set as well.

Though whether they'll bother or not is unclear at this time, since there are rumors of Sony officially discontinuing the Vita for all regions has been cropping up a lot lately.

So what if they do? You're not forced to update (although no doubt your brother/cousin/dog will "accidentally" do so :P)

Tubehax is a different beast, I don't think the mandatory-update "feature" the Youtube app has was even known at the time!

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
