Help with xbox pc networking

Ok so I just bought my friends modded xbox with 120gb harddrive off him from £50.
First off do you think that was a good deal?

Secondly how do I send files over to the xbox? I've connected it via Ethernet cable and my computer says it has 'Limited or no connectivity'
Is there a programme I need? Help me or point me towards some tutorials pleeaaase!

ccXstream is a good program for streaming stuff to XBMC. Use avalaunch if you are FTPing, it's faster. And that's a pretty good deal
