Hey all, so I'm following the Definitive vWii Hacking Guide that's stickied, and I got up to the stage where you use dx2 cIOS installer. Problem is, I misunderstood the instructions and accidentally installed with the default settings to IOS56 and IOS57 - I didn't realize I was doing it wrong until I got to IOS58. Problem is, I can't seem to find a way to uninstall the cIOS on IOS56/57 now - I was hoping that running dx2 from the start again would do it, but it just takes me straight to IOS58.

Is there any way for me to undo the damage? Thanks for any assistance

To get the stock IOS back you need clean dumps from another Wii U made with BlueDump. It's the only way as other means of getting the stock IOS won't produce clean, legit files.
Those can simply be installed with a WAD manager.

Hey all, so I seem to have gotten the cIOS installed correctly, and went on to install modified cios236. I then tried to use USBLauncher GX to play a wii game, but the problem is once I click Play Game, I just get sent back to the Homebrew Channel.

I did some googling and based on suggestions there I've edited some of the Loader Settings. I have Loader's IOS set to IOS 58, which seems to be the only way I can get the app to detect my hard drive. However, I've tried setting the Game's IOS to 236/249/250/251, none of which seem to work. Any suggestions?

did you replace the cIOS after the syscheck you posted?
because your syscheck was good to begin with, your console wasn't messed up when you asked for help.
maybe you messed it now?

For general knowledge : you do not delete or undo cIOS. you replace them by overwriting with a new one. never delete a IOS, you risk messing your console even worse.

if console reboots, it means game is not found.
either the USB is not plugged in the correct USB Port (back top !)
either you are using a flash drive (DON'T)
either you have a HDD without Y-cable or external power source.

Yeah, I eventually figured out that I'd installed them correctly. There was just some confusion with how the installer worded things that got me thinking I hadn't, so I didn't uninstall them or anything. The syscheck now gives the same info.
As for the HDD, I'm using a powered USB hub to power it. I couldn't get a Y-cable as I couldn't find one (the amazon link that I've seen people post doesn't ship to Australia, unfortunately). But anyway, I bought an AC-powered USB hub and I have that connected to my Wii U via the top port at the back, and I have the HDD in there. The problem still seems to occur. Any ideas? :(

Try different usb loaders maybe?
What's the next most recommended loader after GX? I've tried looking for CFG USB Loader, but the links all seem to be dead for it. Is there any other loader that is generally recommended?

[EDIT] Okay, figured it out at last. It seems the external wasn't playing nice. I dunno if the USB hub wasn't good enough or if it's something else, but I just tried putting the games on a regular USB, and it's working fine.

Guess the USB will just have to make do until I can get around to finding a compatible HDD.

Thanks all for the efforts in helping!

HUB are not working with cIOS.
plug the USB directly to the console.

you can use HUB for the additional power port (if y-cable is needed) but the data plug needs to go directly from console to hdd.
HUB are working only with IOS58 (loader, nintendont, emulators), not with cIOS (wii games, emuNAND)
