Hello everybody,

though I have been knowing this website for more than 8 years, I decided only now to register asking ofr help cos-I think I am really in trouble with my wii. (maybe I am too old for this stuff)

So,

I bought the WII console in 2008 with a 3.4 european system version. I sofmodded two months later following one of your really old guide.
Using Waninkoko's rev 14 (I believe), I managed to install USB GX-loader, and all that stuff happily playing WII games from HDD (WBFS formatted)

Everything fine since I decided to buy to my son Skylander (all the games included the latest porta which allow to play all the different toys from previous games)

When I inserted the disc It was asking for an updated. Now, I have already read somewhere a similar problem from a guy and his daughter so I decided to follow that.

Basically I did the update (now 4.3 E), Homebrew channel will loading but not working anymore and neither disappeared. Skylander and the portal were working

I used the ModMII guide to patch back my WII again installing to IOS 58. Here is the list of the SYSCHECK from the same program ran from my WII:

sysCheck v2.1.0b13 by Double_A and R2-D2199

I do not know honestly now what it is going on.
When Inserting the Skyward disc it is still asking to redo the update, though the system version is 4.3E as before.
Any USB loader do not see my HDD and some times stack dump errors (or something like that) occurs when loading the homebrew browser application

Please I need help. I want my games back again without losing my skyward game at the same time
What if I reset my WII from setting?

HEEEEELPPPPP!!!!!

the wii still prompts for update because it sees the versions of IOS222, 223, 249, and 250 as lesser than what it contains on the skylanders(/skyward??) disc (stubs for those slots).

you can get around it by installing priiloader and enabling the 'block disc update' hack. if you used the standard modmii guide, you likely forgot part of that step as that's pretty standard.

if your GX USBloader is the same one you used from you cIOSv14 days, you should update that as well since it won't play well with the d2x cIOS you currently have installed.

hope this helps.

Thank you for your help.

I did the Priiloader installation and now I can play Skjlander (Spyro's adventure at least). But I am afraid It is not so simple though. In fact Usbloader GX, now updated to the last version 3.0 (https://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/wiki/Installation#Installation), won't see anyway my HDD. Neither WII flow which states: "WBFS_open mislukt: -1"

Any solution?

when you updated the loader, did you just replace the boot.dol or do a full install? a full install for wiiflow would be to delete/rename SD:\wiiflow as well as replacing the SD:\apps\wiiflow contents with the current boot.dol and meta.xml. i'm not a GX user, so i'm not exactly sure on how GX organizes its needed files....might all be all contained in the apps\usb_loaderGX folder. also, route app launching through the HBC if you can for now; your forwarder channels (if you use them) will likely also have to be updated.

if you still are having little luck getting the HDD recognized, you might consider trying some testing with a different file system and/or device. the WBFS file system is old and not widely used any longer; but that said, it should still be supported by the loaders, so it shouldn't be the problem. if you have a spare thumbdrive, you could try moving a game onto that and seeing if it works...first as a WBFS file system, then as a .wbfs file on a FAT32 file system (you can use wii back-up manager to manage it). if it works as FAT32 and not WBFS, you could consider converting your collection to a FAT32 filesystem if it isn't crazy huge.

hopefully this helps.
