Hacking Help with DS Lite, R4 card without (i) Logo, Micro-SD cart and firmware

Hi,

I bought a NDS lite (black) with an R4 card (black). I found an old 16GB (HC) and I am not able to pass the "LOADING" screen. So something is wrong with either the firmware or the cards. I tried this link to dl the firmware: http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp (without i) and formatted the card with fat32.

Any idea what can be done? See attachment for images.

You're looking for an original R4 firmware, not the R4i, which is from a different manufacturer.

You may have to look into using YsMenu if some games aren't working. That's about the oldest card there is.

Also, that doesn't look like the SDHC model, which means you may be limited to using MicroSD cards that are non-HC, which means you're limited to 4GB cards max.

Ok, tried the 16 GB and I found a 4 GB card from my GBA Omega FC. No look. I am stuck in the LOADING screen. So, which R4 card should I buy?

Did you try extracting the latest Wood R4 rar into the root of the SD card?

thank you very much! I love this forum! As always you replied very fast! =) It seems that the cards are not compatible. I ordered two things:

a 2 GB non-hc card. arrives today.
a R4 Gold Pro 2018. Arrives in 1 month.

The 2GB non-HC Card booted up right away with the wood R4 software. So I need a new R4 Card with at least 32GB. 2GB is no fun on holiday =)
