So I finally decided to get back to modding my "old model" 3DSXL (though honestly due to a defective gateway red flashcard that I got scammed from I never really started much). I made sure that i bought the old 3sx from a retail store (this was in early 2015 btw), and found out I was on an exploitable firmware and successfully downgraded to 4.x successfully via the ds profile exploit. I have looked through a lot of documents now and it appears i have quite a few options (CFW, emunands, etc). What I would ideally like to do is both be able to have the option of online play, but also not have to upgrade the sysnand to do it. sort of like duel boot (if that's possible) or to go one step further, just straight out be able to play backups online (ala original wii). I am not sure whether a flashcard will be needed for what i want. If it is I'd also like to know of card re-seller based in usa with affordable prices (some s sites have the prices jacked up), thanks in advance :)

or stay on 4x so as not to brick your 3ds. you can have seperate sdcards if you want a couple of different emunands.

9.2 with Menuhax 2.0 is way better than 4.x with mset and updating to 9.2 is safe and easy as long as you can follow a 3 steps guide guide without fucking it up.

It isn't like the recent downgrades were a few people bricked for no apparent reason.

Will they use the same Shindou-translated ROM, or the original English ROM?

From what I've heard about the Expansion Pack, the emulator used has some noticeable input delay and/or lag...would BLJs even be possible?

  • RichardTheKing @ RichardTheKing:
Apparently Nintendo adapted the 3D All-Stars emulator, instead of their old Virtual Console emulator - or, if nothing else, copying what fans have done.

from what i can seem to gather there's some issues but nothing dramatic enough to severely impact what you're playing

honestly the whole expansion pack confuses me since i thought the nes/snes games were just a neat little bonus

Start a new thread in the 3DS board, the chat box is not the best place to ask for such advice.

A week ago I got a payment request, through PayPal, from "[email protected]", who wanted US$64.
    Scam? Cancelled it anyway.

The note added to it simply said "Lucky Charms?", too.

I wonder...how would the gaming scene have changed had the Wii (and its bullshit motion controls and criminally neglected Classic Controller) failed?

  • AkiraKurusu @ AkiraKurusu:
Microsoft certainly wouldn't have experimented with the Kinect, that's for sure. Would Nintendo have released something like the Wii U early?
    Gift
  • AkiraKurusu @ AkiraKurusu:
That would've had a different name, so as not to tie it to its failed predecessor (something the Wii U dearly wished it has gotten anyway).

  • Veho @ Veho:
PlayStation 2 already had that EyeToy thing before the Wii, and a whole lot of games supported it. Microsoft would have had something like the Kinect even if the Wii failed.

Planning to buy a cronus zen to record inputs to negate mundane grinds/farming, anyone have it? How is it?
