When I finally got on ethernet (i've been blessed), I immediately hopped onto Oracle VM VirtualBox. Why didn't I use anything else? I couldn't find any info on enabling AMD-V on my 2009 PC, and VMWare required that to be enabled pre-system launch. The closest I could find was ASUS's Express Gate being supported here. Anyways, I went onto VirtualBox, fired up my Windows 98 machine to see if the ethernet magic applied in there too, aaaand it crashes on boot.
This is annoying because on my previous Lenovo AIO PC, ethernet gone, but AMD-V enabled from the factory, my Windows 98 VM never crashed (Even my Windows ME VM on the Lenovo AIO was perfectly fine; never came across a BSOD on ME or any driver issues.)
MBOARD = ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
BIOS = AMD AGESA V3.5.3.1 (11/25/2009)
CPU = AMD Athlon II X4 630 (2.80 GHz)
Help!
