Allright first off, I have no programming experience at all (no FTP, devkit, nada) but I have intentions of helping in make a homebrew app.

I was thinking of having a browser similar to teknecals but instead of homebrew apps it would be roms. You know...Nes, SNES, N64 perhaps even PSX iso's (which would be hard not mentioning the size of the iso). I was thinking of uploading them to my mediafire account, so i was looking for some developers/ who might want to help me. This has no rush so It doesn't have to be now...

looking forward for ur replies [IMG]

It's illegal (for most countries) to download roms. Some countries give a 24-hour range, most allow it, if you have the original, but I don't think this is needed. If I want to get roms, I get them through my computer.

i think if we had somthing like this.
i think you should get movies and shows instead of roms

Not a good idea cause the WiFi of the Wii is slow (IMO) so I prefer doing it on my PC

Be funny if you did this with wads.

Man that'd be a kick in the nads to Ninty. A nicer gui than the shop channel that had everything for free.

My question is where you would find server space for all of this, I don't think any free host would work well.

Not only the space, but the bandwidth usage.

This idea has fail written all over it.

On top of that, it's illegal. It's illegal to discuss about this too.

... older roms (master system, nes) are kilobytes in size.
newer roms (megadrive, SNES) i've only seen up to 4 megabytes.

i dont think that speed of downloading would be an issue lol

the biggest ROM i've seen is probably Sonic 3 & Knuckles, because it was 2 cartridges in one [IMG] best game ever! how i loved the feeling of getting hyper sonic/ knuckles!

he's talkin about ps1 iso's but n64 rom's can already be quite big (think zelda). But there is no point for the wii to do this apart from the old well-emulated consoles, up to snes. But still this would be highly illegal and will be shut down in no time, so I'd suggest you stop discussin this here [IMG] (better on some torrent site)
SUPER SUPER old games that are legal to distribute should popup on abandonware sites (google)

yeah but he said ROMs not ISOs so i only stated ROM sizes lol

besides that, PS1 emulation is crap at the moment, so why bother adding that to a download site?
