Hi all, I recently bought a Pokeball 2ds console from a local market. Whenever I turn it on I'm greeted with black screens and a blue power light.

I've powered it on whilst pressing select and I get the luma 3ds screen, so someone has hacked it or at least attempted to hack it? There was no SD card with the console.

I've never looked into hacking a 2ds before and I really don't know how to fix the console, any advice would be gratefully appreciated. I'd love to get the console working with our without Luma 3ds.

Untick the option
[] Disable ARM11 exception handlers
and see if you can get a meaningful ARM11 crash (hopefully with the process PM)

This is the screen it has now shown. Is this good or bad?
Nice.
You will need a FAT32 formatted micro-SD and then start here:
https://3ds.hacks.guide/restoring-updating-cfw

Unless the SD reader in the 2DSXL is bad this should be an easy thing.

Custom process PM crashing is an incompatibility with latest firmware versions. Fixed in newer versions of Luma3DS.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the help. Fingers crossed, I'll post how i got on.
We've had countless of these in the past. Before that was the infamous "Failed to apply 1 FIRM patch(es)" message.

Problem is that many people turned off the crash handler when seeing ARM11 crashes. As if removing the crash handler would remove the cause of crash.
Result it the black screens you described above.

Well thank you again, I'm happy to say the 2ds has been given a second chance at life.
