Hacking HELP using USB GX on launch wii

hi i haven been trying to get one of my old dead wii (dead DVD drive and settings corrupted) to work with usb loader gx

i know this is a pretty broad problem but i have been trying for 2 days here with no love

firstly it was a launch wii on 3.3u

i used punch out to update to 3.4u to restore the system menu/settings menu
i used bannerbomb to install bootmii/HBC
i used trucha bug restorer on IOS15/36
i then installed cIOS rev14
lastly i updated to 4.0 using waninkokos updater
i installed the USB loader GX through WAD manager 1.3

so basically i am at the stage right now where GX loads, can see the games on HDD and will load but i ALWAYS get an 'error has occurred' message or black screen on every game iso and every wiiware

ANY help would be greatly appreciated since i am basically ready to give up and order a replacement DVD drive for this wii

do you have bootmii or preloader installed? a NAND backup?

does the dvd drive make any sound? or is it completely dead?

yes bootmii is installed as boot2
no NAND backup

DVD drive totally dead and in fact no longer inside the wii at all
