I am currently trying to run Lunar Rescue properly (with sound samples) through MAME retroarch cores on O3DS XL. I am able to run the game correctly in the 2000 core, but I cannot for the life of me seem to be able to get sound samples working on that core. 2003 and 2003 Plus throw up errors on samples being missing, indicating to me that they do indeed ask for sound samples; however, I run into a new problem when trying to run through these cores. Namely that the game loads up... and then doesn't accept any input whatsoever.

Moreover, the debug log that runs on the bottom screen seems to just loop infinitely, or never come to a satisfactory exit, with no way to exit out save for the home menu. I have also tried using different rom sets, but to no avail. No matter what, the game just refuses to run on 2003/2003 Plus. Is this an inherent compatibility issue with these cores, or is there a fix for it? If it's the former, is there a way to run sound samples through the 2000 core?

Hi,
Here is the configuration I used to successfully run Lunar Rescue :
1. Retroarch 1.8.5 on New 2DS.
2. Lunar Rescue ROMs from my Taito Legends 2 for Windows.
The ROMs are in my arcade directory:

arcade/Taito/ROMS_2/lrescue.zip
arcade/Taito/ROMS_2/samples/lrescue.zip

The sample files has:
Code:
Archive: lrescue.zip
  Length Date Time Name
--------- ---------- ----- ----
     3913 2006-02-10 05:12 3.wav
      820 2006-02-10 05:12 6.wav
     2848 2006-02-10 05:12 4.wav
      862 2006-02-10 05:12 7.wav
     3307 2006-02-10 05:12 1.wav
     7797 2006-02-10 05:12 2.wav
    39210 2006-02-10 05:12 8.wav
--------- -------
    58757 7 files

I hope this helps.
Regards,
Lionel

Unfortunately, I am unsure if it will work with O3DS. Also, which MAME core are you using?

This does not appear to have fixed the sound sample issue.

EDIT: Ah, I see where the fault lies now; the latest stable build I was using was not actually the latest stable. Thanks, Retroarch 3DS Nightly thread.

EDIT 2: And that still seems to have done nothing again. e.e

1. Did you create the sample directory? I had to create it.
2. Could you please check the content of the lrescue.zip sample file?

Lionel
