So today my new PS VITA just arrived with 2.61, the problem is I tried to follow some instructions on wololo suggested by the ultimate noob guide, to update the firmware manually, however both methods OpenCMA and PS3Proxy seems not working for me.

First aid: Do not restart/shutdown your Vita now!
You can remove the update simply by going in the settings program and uncheck the auto-update in the start-up programs (the downloaded update should be removed than, too).
Now you can restart you Vita when ever you want.

For CMA stuff, see following posts from other forum members :P CMA can be a mess from time to time... (if you once have a working setting, stick with it)

Can you be more specific as I can't find anywhere the option to uncheck :(

My Vita isn't set to english, please consider that my translation may don't completly fit with what your system shows (but it should be understandable, hopefully).
Settings program (the bubble) -> System -> Start-up settings -> Download Updates for System software (uncheck this)

I found Auto-Start Settings but it shows only Refresh LiveArea Screen and (CHECK) and Update Online Status for PSN (UNCHECK)

I didn't knowed that 2.61 hadn't that option (or maybe it was somewhere else back then).
You should be able to remove the downloaded update if you click on the "..." in the notification of the update (if 2.61 lacks even that I have no idea how to help with the update problem)

No worries solved... Finally after an hour and half thinking if it was right or not I used QMCA! Amazing tool!
