you wont be able to use the latest tn-v on that lower firmware, will have to use an earlier release.

there sure is, and its real easy aslong as you take the right route. i helped someone with the same situation here > http://gbatemp.net/threads/got-3-20-vita-2000-today.375347/

read that through and ask if you get stuck,

Fantastic thank you very much!!! Many of the links you have are on zload so I may just have to wait until feb. Is there a specific version of CMA for 1.69? or will the latest version work?

Thanks again

heres a guide and it shows you which openCMA patch you will need to patch your CMA, when you plug your vita into your PC it should install the one it needs, so just close it when its installed and add the 1.6x patch :)

just give the one for 1.8x a try and see how you get on, if you have put your vita into plane mode and knocked off wifi and restarted the vita and you try to connect your vita to the pc and it asks to install an update then you know it hasnt worked and we need to look at CMA versions.

Thanks for all your help! you were right, I tried the exploit on 1.69 and it works except just before the XMB boots there is a red screen that says "a serious error has occurred"! So I'll need to update to 3.18 The issue (again) is that the guide requires that zload.net site so I guess I'll have to wait until it's up again.

it can be done this way also, with just your PC

try this, pasted from wololo

I think The Z's method is way to hard for noobs..
I did not want to make a new topic for this as there's already one..

My Method..
1. Download and install "PS3.ProxyServer.GUI" http://www.ps3hax.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=92&act=down
2. Start PS3.ProxyServer.GUI and Type in your PC's IP then select "PSP Mode" and click Start..
3. Click the Logs Tab, Then on your Vita Go to WiFi Settings and enter your PC's IP for the Proxy.
4. Go to System Update and click "Update Using Wi-Fi".. It will show the Latest Version then click "Next" and "Yes" Then "Do Not Accept" and "Yes".. This will give you the Link to the PUP file it will download and install..
5. Copy this link from the Logs screen and click "Replace File" Tab.. Past that link on the left side. On the Right side click the Little button and select the PUP file you want to install.
6. Now click the "Logs" Tab again and click "Update Using Wi-Fi" and make sure in the "Logs" Tab is says that the files has been Redirected to a local file.
7. Done you can update to any Version you want.. (You can not downgrade this way)

heres the 3.18 official vita firmware, http://www.filedropper.com/psvitaofw318complete
