Hey guys,

I recently went to my local Best Buy and picked up a Mario Land 3DS that comes pre-built with 10.7 firmware. I have been trying to install Browerhax on it so that I can downgrade it to 9.2 but it hasn't been working! It's quite frustrating as I keep getting that update nag.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do?

Alternatively: I have a O3DS with 11.0.0.33u on it and I wanted to downgrade that one, and don't have access to a hardmod or another modded 3DS. Am I SOL in this regard?

Thanks a lot guys!

Once you have the update nag, you won't be able to use browserhax. The only thing you can use now are primary exploits such as Cubic ninja(ninjhax), Freaky Forms,(freakyhax), Smash Bros(if you have linux). Otherwise, you can also use secondary exploits, only thing is you need another 3DS to install the hax in it, games like Ocarina of Time 3D, Omega Ruby and others(too many to list, just look it up here)

If you're getting the update nag, there's nothing you can do except for finding another entrypoint, which requires buying a game if you don't already have it.

For the old 3DS, for now, yes you are SOL.

Edit: Ninja'd

There will be a method coming out to downgrade your O3DS 11.0.0-33U by itself. No idea when it will come out, so don't ask.

You can fix the nag problem by doing this:
https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Recovery_Mode
Just decline the update and it will delete the nag.

For the 11.0 system problem, once you get homebrew on the 10.7 system and downgrade it, get a9lh, and upgrade back to 11.2, you can use it to hack the 11.0 system with dsiware downgrade. Check the plailect guide for more details.

Whoops, cant transfer new3ds to old3ds, sorry.

You're wrong on the 11.0 system part. That's an old 3DS. He can't system transfer from n3DS to old 3DS. Only vice versa.

Hey so, I boot into the recovery mode and declined the update but I still have the nag when I try to boot up the Browserhax. Is there something else I should be doing?

Yeah, already edited.

I thought you were talking about a system update nag. For browser nag, that won't work.

Hey, I have Smash Bros but that's it. I don't really wanna buy a Power Save for the OOT exploit, any other options?

Recovery Mode shouldn't be needed.

From https://plailect.github.io/Guide/homebrew-launcher-(browser) Section III "This section is only needed for New 3DS on version 10.7.0"

11. This may take several tries; if you get the prompt to update your 3DS, restart at the step to turn off “Wireless Communication / NFC

Plailect's guide no longer mentions the browser nag.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wasn't browserhax offline while they change hosts? I can't get to the domain at all.

Okay so basically, from what I understand: there's nothing I can do to fix the browser nag? What if I returned the unit and bought another one? Will that one not have a "browser nag" on it

So I should try this guy's method out and it may work? Should I delete all the contents of my SD card and do a factory reset of the unit first?

Browserhax is offline for now, but there are mirrors floating around.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
