I'm somehow lost in the process of making people able to make their own episodes of Phoenix Wright. As I want to please the maximum of person, help me to set my top priority for the first release. Poll choices are in time consuming order [IMG]. I have to say, that the first option will force you to do a lot of hacking to understand the format.

Great idea, I was thinking of something similar for Elite Beat Agents the other day - being able to create your own levels with custom soundtracks would be so awesome.

As with your editor, I think it'd be best to take your time and release an easy-to-use graphical editor with a GUIl, similar to some of the old Pokemon ROM editors.

For first release my suggestion would be a script editor although the ability to edit the font would be very nice as an inclusion in that.

I chose the last option because it would obviously be the most awesome but you shoud probably do one after the other since they seem to be building onto each other...

So, who wants to start planning our own PW episode? [IMG]

I think I would be more interested if this program was able to be used with other roms. Maybe one that can extract all the animation and pictures from EBA would be great.

I'm still thankful for the previous thread where you extracted the sprites from the DS exclusive case of Phoenix Wright. Seeing Gant going crazy in court is something I always wanted... pity some of the animation in the file you posted was a bit off.

I've put the documentation of my release on my website, I will make the actual release as soon as everything work also in windows. It will take some times, mainly because I only have windows at home and I am at work [IMG]

I've updated my editor with a gui application, might not work on every windows computer. Please test and feedback.

Wow, that's definitely amazing. I'm currently examining the scripts and, figured some out already. Is your wiki open to anyone?
EDIT: There seems to be a bug in 1.0. It will convert the .txt file to .bin the wrong way. The original .bin was only 27 KB, I decompressed it using 1.0.1 to .txt (which came out 91 KB), change one letter and recompressed it to .bin. That binary is 80 KB and of course, if inserted back to the ROM, won't work. [IMG]
EDIT2: I should learn to read, sorry. [IMG]

with the gui version everything is done automatically. My wiki is not open, but when things will get more advanced it will be.

No it is done automatically by the packer. If a .txt file is present it will convert it to a .bin.
