Why do you want to go to 11.7 and not to 11.8? There is no difference at all.

Just update to 11.8.0-41. There's no reason to be on 11.7.0-40.

But if you insists...
Use sysUpdater and that darth site. Find that site yourself. Before you try updating, you might want to back up your SysNAND.

Don't say we didn't warn you if you brick your n3DSXL without making that NAND image.

Then you can update normally through the settings

There's literally no reason to update to 11.7 over 11.8. You aren't safer by doing so, you won't bypass anything, and you are just adding a bricking risk by using sysUpdater.
Just update to the latest Luma3DS and update to 11.8 through the system settings.

Before you update the 3DS firmware in System Settings, make sure your custom firmware is on the latest Luma3DS v9.1, GodMode9 v1.7.1, and boot9strap v1.3 on both the SD card and CTRNAND.

1) Update luma to latest version using the luma updater or do it manually

2) Update to latest firmware through system settings

Hello, I'm going to take advantage of the discussion and ask some questions. Today I purchased a 3DS XL fw 11.1.0-34. It is already unlocked, even with some games installed. I have not seen the luma installed, just the FBI, NTR CFW, Homebrew and Brower channel.

The last firmware I've been reading has been blocking piracy services. Is there a secure firmware? If so, how do I upgrade?

No. Also, try holding select while turning on your 3DS.

How do I proceed? Luma v9.1 is the last one right?
I update Luma and then update on the 3DS OS when it turns on?

Follow this right here. It seems you have A9LH because you have Luma 6.X. Past Luma 8.x Luma only comes in .firm files.
