Help me shrink a shirt

This is a odd topic, but WTH Im on the Internet

I got a shirt that's one size larger than it's suppose to be. It's brand new and I don't want to toss it away. Anybody have tips or ExP on shrinking oversize clothing?

Wash it in hot water and then dry it to death in the dryer, repeat, repeat, repeat. You'll get fading/cracking with this method too, these days that seems to be in vogue though.

If you don't want the other ill effects, take it to a taylor to cut and re-sew, but for the price you'll pay you could probably buy a shirt that fits (or two.)

Another solution would be to eat lots and lots of twinkies and ice-cream... in a month or two it should fit just fine!

Or, stick it in the attic and wait 10 years, it WILL eventually fit (trust me.)

Or just sew from INSIDE the shirt to the size you desire...

Getting fat and growing are definitely not my choices. Maybe growing, but might not be easy. Also no sewing machine at home and even if I do, I wont know how to work it

I'll probably go for the wash with hot water and dry it method. I'm still open to other ideas th0.

Is this a t-shirt we're talking about here? What's it made of, 50/50 cotton/poly?

..and Pochi's idea is good, and you can do it without a sewing machine, but it's a bit tedious, and more than a little slapdash if you're not careful.

I just checked, it's a 100% cotton long sleeve.

Pochi's idea is good, but I'm not very dexterous with sewing

Also ds6220 if u know how to build a Fatten gun, I guess this would be resolve instantly

just wash it at 90°C (or is it 75°C

Whatever ) (hottest a washer can do)

(i bet it will shrink

)

To be safe wash it first @ 60°C, new shirts tend to shrink anyway

I always buy new shirts a size to big, in the end it fits perfect

(after a few washes)

I beg to differ. Fat grubby men w/ grubby hands get all the women. Look at decoded for example

Why don't you just return it to the store and get it in the next size down?

Yea wash it in scalding hot water and dry it. turn it inside out in the dryer to help it from cracking the logos on it.

Exactly! If it's brand new and you've still got the reciept then they'll just switch it right over. It's easier if it's still got the tags on it, but if not they'll exchange it anyway if they're sure it's the right one.
