Hacking HELP just bricked my wii using waninkokos 4.2 update

well here is my 1st brick

i know ' why did i do it ' well i thought i would upgrade before my kids did , and using the tried and trusted method

so i ran hackmii 0.5 and updated HBC , DVDx and bootmi as boot 2

i then ran waninkokos 4.2 firmware updater , everything ran sweet till i went back and seen that installing system menu 4.2E installing content #138 had error

having no option but to exit , it returned me to the preloader screen ' phew' thinking all is not lost !

now in preloader i get : error autobooting HBC , maybe title not installed ?

or error autobooting systemmenu ! could not open boot file .



now my big question is can i safely turn off my wii and load bootmii , im assuming this hasnt been affected ? or will i try and load a system menu through preloader as im currently on that screen ( also i tried to run hackmii with preloader but it says no executable file found or some thing )

the new hbc's title ID changed. So programs like preloader that reference it have to be updated or modified. There's a dol around somewhere that fixes it.

As for bootmii it depends if waninkoko's updated overwrote boot2. If it did than you won't be able to get into bootmii. If it didn't than it'd proceed with startup and probably go to preloader or system menu.

in my panic i forgot that preloader wouldnt find the new id ,right so i could use giantpune's hbc fix to forward me to the hbc channel , im away to try

geedub, bootmii should work and you can use it to restore your backup or to launch the new HBC.

Just use BootMii to restore your Nand back to 4.1 and try again or wait till its safe to do and all stuff is working fine.

thing is it didnt launch the HBC , it just black screened
