Hacking Help! I'm a n00b and can't set my R4 up!

I recently bought an r4i 3ds Gold Card off of gamekool.com. I Have waited many long days and nights and it is finally here. I opened my box, and, found no instructions. Now I have looked at youtube videos, downloaded software, and it still will not work. Will someone please help me!

first of all, we have to know which r4i Gold 3DS it is. There are multiple of them. Telling us the website that is most likely written on the sticker of your card or on the box would help us a lot.

fist of all download wood r4 1.31 for r4i Gold (r4ids.cn)

extract everything in it to the root of your micro SD card. Put that micro SD card into your r4i Gold 3DS card and enjoy!

"How to update R4i?

As a rule, you can't ask for where to download games, so look them up on google.

As for skins, you can use acekard skins (or AKAIO skins, to be specific).

Alright, I have a theme I like, how do I use it?

"Download the decompressing files ,put it into the _system_/themes list
which is corresponding to the month, then cover the former picture.
Such as: July, copied to the 'theme07' content."
In English:
Download, extract, stick it in the folder under _system_ then themes then the month. Bam. Themed.

inside your _rpg folder, you should see another folder called ui. put the skin (the whole folder for the skin) into the ui folder. When you load up your r4i Gold 3DS, press start and go down to 'Settings.' you should see an option called 'User Interface style.' change the theme to the desired one.

Also, it's very possible that they stole the entire website and replaced some basic shit, so it'd make sense to google your problem whenever you can't figure something out.

So, Is my R4 card an Acekard? and can I update to 1.4.2? And are there any R4 Firmwares that will work? I am very confused...

Your R4 cart is one of the good ones, it's not a clone. Wood can use the same skins as AKAIO because they both share a common base.

And you can update to 1.4.2 AFTER you apply the 1.4.2 bootloader/firmware update to your R4i Gold.

Wood is the system software you need to play games.
