Gaming Help! I need my Windows.old to be my actual windows

Hey, I need help. I came home from school, booted up my laptop, and windows reinstalled itself it saved all my files but it's named "Windows.old" I want to restore that. Please help. Thanks

Err.. why did your operating system suddenly decide to reinstall itself?

Anyway. A simple google search would lead you to this microsoft article (the first one from google search I may add) on how to accomplish that with Vista. You never mentioned what operating system you use, so I'll make a guess at that.

Fail, and unless somebody was on your laptop, your screwed it up or you left an installation disk in there and happened to click "Next" about 30 times and type in your address without being aware of it, your laptop wouldn't have reinstalled windows.
