Hacking HELP! How to stop official firmware from installng

Hi All,

If I disable firmware updates will this stop official firmware installing? Do I need to do anything else to stop official firmware updates from installing accidentally?

My PS3 is on firmware rebug 4.81 D-REX. The console is a CEX model.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

yea, generally there is no such thing as auto update on ps3 thank god

I'm on OFW 3.41 and I only disabled "auto update" option. Never had an issue.
I don't know if sony changed how the auto-update triggers its check on newer version. I think PS3 is correctly following user's setting. (unlike PS4 which downloads the update even if you have that option turned off)

Can't remember, but I don't think anything will happen bro. It will not update on its own... You have to accept terms and then it must download the update. You can check google if you want to be safe :-)
