?

Should a tool be created to gather modding info for a given Wii?

I was wondering if there was a utility app, which could be downloadable via Homebrew Browser, that could run without any custom IOS's that could be a straightforward easy-to-use tool, which someone could run on their box to find out what is Installed and what is not?

I have seen how well the "spyware" forums work, when they have a tool like HijackThis which can report all of whats going on to aid in resoultion of issues.

If our developer community here could create a small utiliity to report the important information to help resolve issues, and the users could then copy the information down and report it back to this forum, we could resolve their issues quicker and easier.

I was thinking we could create an app which would collect the following information:
    • Console Region
    • System Menu Version
    • IOSes installed
    • Custom IOSes installed (Versions of each)
    • Homebrew Channel Installed?
    • BootMii installed? Boot2/IOS?
    • PriiLoader installed?
    • StartPatch installed?
I don't know if this has ever been done, or if it can be done without a cIOS already being installed. But I believe this would be a huge benefit to the newcomer, and even a time saver for a veteran Wii modder.

Let me know what you all think.

There are a few tools for this in existence at the moment.

Would you mind posting some information about them, that way we as a community can decide on a standard procedure for new people to follow to "get us the info" required to fix their issues...

    Thanks,

Can boot 2 be detected without any cIOS? I dont recon it can be done without cIOS installed or bootmii.

But if you do make one, name it:

    Wiinsiide

    or

    WTF (What's The Files?) [IMG]

    or

    or

    Wiinformationizer

    or

    M.O.Tii

    or
