Hey everyone,

I am currently facing a problem for which I would like your opinion / help, since I have been looking around for the last few days and albeit finding a lot of helpful resources, I failed in finding a definite answer to what I'm looking for.

The situation:

My family owns a switch running Atmosphere on a RAW partition on a 1TB SD card with multiple games installed, and 8 users, each with its own savegames. Switch#1

We also own another switch which is currently unused. Switch#2

Both are hacked.

Suddenly the eMMC on Switch#1 died, or it is eitherway not working, hekate shows "running in slow mode" and when I check the eMMC properties, I get "failed to init eMMC". In this condition, neither CFW nor OFW starts, giving the eMMC error already mentioned. Sadly, I do not have any backup of the system eMMC so, to my understanding, even though I could buy a new eMMC and physically replace the dead one, I would have no way to restore the previous working condition as I don't have a backup.

The questions:

- Is there a quick way for me to migrate the emuMMC to Switch#2? I have tried inserting the SD card from Switch#1 into Switch#2, but when i try to launch CFW emuMMC i get a black screen, although to my understanding this is to be expected since the emuMMC was generated on a different eMMC + console combo.

- Alternatively, is there a quick way to migrate all the installed content, the users and the saves to a newly made emuMMC on Switch#2?

- Failing the two above, do I have any other option to restore the condition I had on Switch#1 onto Switch#2, besides reinstalling everything from scratch and attempting to restore saves on the newly created emuMMC on Switch#2?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Check your sd card reader connection between board and small board.
Decrypt emuMMC#1 using switch#1's prod.key should theoretically give you option to transfer all content to Switch#2, but both switch has to be same model. v1tov1, v2tov2 etc.

The connection would seem fine fine, since I can read SD content on Switch#1 and I can mount the contents to my PC through Hekate

I can confirm both Switch are the same model

I have successfully decrypted emuMMC#1 and i can access USER / SYSTEM / etc e.g. with NxNandManager, how would I go about transferring the content? What do I exactly need to transfer to the new emuMMC, and eventually how?

Thank you

First thing you need to do is make a backup of all emunand partitions on your sd card with nxnandmanager. You can buy an empty emmc module then restore those partitions to it, even if you don't have a backup of the old working emmc. Then just do a system wipe in tegra explorer and that's it. No need to use donor nand and you'll still have nso access.

As for exporting data, you'll need to do it manually, i.e. export save data from your old emunand, then import them to your new one, you can use nxnandmanager to do it. As for games I think you need to reinstall them, last time i searched there's no way to move them to a new console other than dump/reinstall

Also what's the switch model and modchip installed? Some picofly chips and hwfly v4.x/v5 are known to cause emmc issues due to poorly designed emmc ribbon cable
