Anything glass or plastic, go to the Autos section of the supermarket and get the automotibe glass cleaner. rips off smudges like beans and butt cheeks.

is there any chance something like that would rip off the paint?

(wait, is there any sealant on the micro faceplates, would this thing rip the sealant off?)

Use mentholated spirits, surgical spirits or isopropyl. None of these will damage the sealant.
