The game was supposed to be released with the help of the fans(and newcomers) of the game through Kickstarter but it seems that the campaign got cancelled and Game Atelier has found a publisher for the game.

FDG Entertainment will be helping the developer to bring the game over to PC and later on we will see ports of the game on other platforms.
Ports for PS3,PS4,PS Vita,XBOXOne,3DS and Wii U were mentioned on the Kickstarter and one of the first stretch goals was the Vita port which maybe hints that the game will be first ported to Vita.

As for the prequel, the sequel won't be a shoot'em up game but it will be a Action-Adventure Game with platforming and RPG elements. It will be in 1080p and 60 fps.

And iirc the game's in HD on Vita? Eye candy on the OLED screen.....
