Anyhow I went on to watch the entire film skipping through to see the parody parts so a mini review. I am assuming if you have made it to the point in life that you are reading this then have watched the original film (or, worse, do not care) and will not hold it against me if I spoil a parody porn film.
Not sure if it was the fourth wall, industry inside jokes (beta vs vhs) or just self referential stuff but I actually caught myself wanting to see how they would parody various points. I would not call it well written per se but it clearly had some work done on it.
The dream sequence/Gutterballs actually looked like it had a half decent FX/set budget although I will now have to be embarrassed as it means I just failed to contained the meeja studies side of me (I even noticed a continuity error during the film- the cigar on the ashtray when the dude talks to Mr Lebowski which is odd as I rarely notice them normally). It did suffer for lacking the song (Just Dropped In - Kenny Rogers & The First Edition to save people a search) so if I ever recut the film I will have to redub it.
The Saddam Hussein vs George loves Bush idea was hilarious though- for some reason I thought back to all the various arguments along the lines of "if we just got the leaders to fight...".
I will note the editing of the porn scenes themselves was atrocious (cuts not even saved for position changes and just about everything short of a star wipe)- being a filthy degenerate of the internet age I will spare a rating of the scenes beyond that.
Other than that they only cut a few scenes out (even if they skipped over the kidnapping subplot to some extent which they even acknowledged it during the fourth wall/self referential parts).
In the end though they did it justice so kudos to the folks at New Sensations.
