Having issues with my SD card, how can I force Haxchi to redump Nand?

I'm having issues installing some games from SD card, and WUP installer says that it's an issue with the SD card. It was working before, so I figured I'd try to dump the Nand again, reformatting the SD card in the process. However, when I follow the tutorial I used previously, it skips the part where it prompts me to dump the nand and boots straight into rednand. Presumably because it's already detecting a nand dump?

Should I just format my SD card and start again from scratch? There's no danger in doing so, right? I trying to copy my nand dump to my PC with dimok's extractor, but it can't detect a Nand.

Yes just format the SD using a PC first. redNAND gone.

Hmm, now games installed to USB HDD via the Brazilian method will no longer boot from rednand, I get "Nintendo Network ID Was Deleted". Does anyone know what the simplest solution is to this? I could reinstall everything, but I don't know if that's perhaps overkill.

Yes, If you installed the games to your USB while you were in redNAND and then deleted redNAND you have lost the ability to play them. You have to reinstall

Format the SD card and use sysNAND. Forget redNAND unless you have a reason besides brick protection to use it. Nobody has bricked from simply installing titles. I'm not aware of one brick that could have been prevented with redNAND. Users that have bricked have done so from incorrectly setting up or maintaining coldboothax/CBHC.

That's true. I forgot to mention that if he switched to sysNAND he'd still have to reinstall those game he installed in redNAND. Once he did though he wouldn't have to go through the hassle again.

Except for the guy that installed sysconfig tool to sysnand, but that's just reckless.

I wouldn't consider that a case of redNAND would have saved him because what he installed was only meant for redNAND. I'd say that's carelessness rather than recklessness, but whatever, that's semantics. I get your point. I'd add that pretty much every brick thus far could have been easily avoided if the user would have just stopped for a second and thought about what they were doing. I was being pretty reckless the other night when I was frustrated that I couldn't mount my NAND with my hard mod. I was ejecting/inserting the fake SD with the console powered on. I knew it wasn't wise but I was fully aware that what I was doing might damage the console.

I suppose doing a hard mod that I didn't need was reckless too but taking shit apart and soldering stuff is half the fun of consoles for me. I've got a crap ton of games but I spend more time screwing with the console than playing them. What the fuck am I doing with my life?

I understand the mentality for tinkering. I've hacked every system I've had for like 5 years, including my wii u, but I haven't beaten one game on my wiiu to date.

seriously? the wii u is vastly underestimated. the pro controller boasts 80+ hours battery life which is far superior to the ps3, ps4, and xbox 360 (not sure about the xbone). plus, some games take good advantage of the gamepad such as kirby and the rainbow paintbrush. if there's one game I'd suggest u play, it's that one.

I agree that the wiiu has some great games. I just can't sit down and finish a game like I could when I was a kid. I tend to only play older games.

And I am mistaken. I actually did beat Final Fantasy VI on loadiine over the summer. It was great, my first full playthrough.

I actually own the retron 3 and the retron 5. I play on them occasionally. I mostly play the wii u though. I own a ps3, ps2, 360, ds, 3ds, ps vita, pstv, and ps4, but I always come back to the wii u.

The last 4 games I beat all came out over 15 years ago.

I don't want to keep getting off topic on this thread, but wow you have a ton of consoles :D Those retrons must woo guests.

all r hacked except for the ps4. the only problem with the retrons is that they're a pain in the ass to remove a cart from. there's no eject button like with the snes, so u can damage the teeth.
