Hacking Haven't used my Sky3DS in 1.5 years. Does it still work or did Nintendo find a way to ban it?

I'm using the cart with the red button on top (i think the original version), does it still work or did Nintendo find a way to ban it from use?

Are they still handing out bans for going online in-game?

Does it work with the current version?

Anything I should be aware of?

Any good tutorials out there I can check out as a refresher on how to use?

Thanks for the info

Bummer. So the old version is pretty much useless now?
You could still play the games you already have ;)
So I wouldn't say its useless ;)
Also: Homebrew entry. Ninja'd

If you get the chance, try plailects guide and install either an emunand or a cfw.
Then you have all possibilities.

Well, it is useful for homebrew entrypoints, or for older games, but otherwise, yep.
Bummer. Well it almost paid for itself with the only 2 games I could download and play. Thanks for the info

What's homebrew? Doesn't ring a bell from when I used it last

Weeeeeell...homebrew is exactly what the name suggests..software 'brewed at home' ;)
Its software made by devs/hackers that can possibly executed on our consoles.
It can be self made games, apps like sd card explorers or installers for several things.
And the entry points enable you to actually execute the software.
This allows us to run unsigned(or unauthorized) code on our console and install (e.g) Custom firmwares.

This is just a small explanation and definitely does not cover all questions that come to mind with the word 'homebrew' so take that with a small grain of salt ;)
