So I know the rules state to be as specific as possible, so I am doing my best to remember my setup:
New3DS, Non-XL
System Nand 9.Something (whatever the Red/Blue Pokemon edition shipped with)
Had at one point a fully patched EmuNand with Luna, but it has been quite some time.
It had for a while sat in standby mode on the charger so I am guessing it grabbed an update along the way.
I am 99% sure I was on B9S

For what it is doing:
I power it on and nothing. Two black screens and a blue power light.
I tried manually placing the latest boot.firm from Luna 10.0.1 on the root of my micro SD card.
After that, I am out of ideas since I don't remember any of the button presses for config menus.

If anyone could assist, I would be grateful.

Tried all this and none of it worked:

  1. Ensure you have a working payload
    1. Check for the existence of boot.firm in the root of your SD card.
  2. Try resetting Luma’s config and fix options
    1. Delete /luma/config.bin from your SD card
    2. Set your options when it boots
  3. Test booting GodMode9
    1. On Luma3DS, hold (Start) on boot

Try using an older version of Luma. Also make sure your SD card is actually being read (it might be loading from the SysNAND due to poor contact and SysNAND Luma is often outdated for the average user), very much sounds like you are using an old version of Luma.

Also make sure you aren't on a9lh still or something like that... other than that, older versions of b9s will give you this issue if used with new Luma versions (basically you need to update b9s).

Based on the boot.firm on my microsd card, I was on Luma 9.0 (which of course also means B9S). Tried that, 9.1, and 10.0.1. None of them boot. I know it is making a good connection because if you try to boot without a MicroSD card it immediately powers off.

How do I update B9S if I can't get past this black screen?
