I'm just realising we have our very own environment where I live (Mexico City) and I'm referring to my hood.

There's a lot of trees where I live, and while the City might be at a general temperature, where I am it's slightly different. Usually less grades in both heat and cold.

Just this January 1st we were at -3°C with maximum of 0°C, but again, lots of trees regulates the temperature where I live.
I still remember one day we reached -10°C and the reason I remember is because I still had to go to school. That's as far as I've experienced. With heat I think it was last year when we were 38°C during May.

This October has been unusually cold. We've been at 9°C and I presume we're going to be somewhere around 0°C or less by Winter.

Hell yes. Canada. The country embodies the very meaning of cold winters in pretty much most areas of the country.

We get snowstorms, cold waves, icy roads and hail.

We change our normal tires for snow adapted tires every year.

Have you ever lived somewhere which gets to -20°C (-4°F) or lower in winter? How did you handle it? What did you do on weekends? Are you willing to move back there? Did you take vitamin D or any other supplements?
I have been living in such a place for all my life. And let me tell you, I don't go outside in those temperatures unless absolutely necessary. Apart from xmas shopping and the occasional groceries, I'm huddled inside for most of the winter. I'm fine down to around -5C and it can even be pleasant if the weather is nice, past that going outside is immediately uncomfortable as I instantly freeze my face and legs off. If I'm doing outdoor activities I can dress for that, but it's not practical to wear several layers of thick clothing just to go to the store.

Yep, I take vitamin D3, I can't tell if it's helping much, I still get depressed during the winter. And multivitamin + omega 3 which I take year round.

Yeah, I lived in Alberta for a while, and winters regularly hit -20°C or worse. Layers were everything—thermal base layers, thick socks, and a good parka saved me. On weekends, it was all about staying cozy indoors or hitting up local spots for skating or sledding. I did take vitamin D, and honestly, it helped with the winter blues. I wouldn’t mind moving back, but only if it came with a remote job—those cold morning commutes were brutal!

Can't you just do that with a video editor or open toonz
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Maybe, but you have to create every frame/pic, walking right may have 8 frames/ pics, walking left 8 frames/pics etc. Takes forever.

@BigOnYa you can just use a plastic deform + keyframes. It's way easier than animating it by hand or paying 100 bucks

I just semi- retired so I'm enjoying it for now. I was working 50+ hours a week, so now just working a few days when needed. I own my own company so was time to slow down and let other fam run it for me.

Seems like a long time you've been doing this. One of my parents' friends worked as an electrician for also 20-years with plenty of experience, but got fired many times from not going to work after drunken nights.

I used to have poker night on Fridays after work at my shop, free beer, had a keg on tap, then couple guys got DUI on way home, so had to stop. Now I just give them doughnuts and coffee free in the mornings.
