Have cfw ps3 that i modded myself, want to change harddrives

Activate PS3 without controller.

i have a ps3 but i need a controller to get into menu. have an aftermarket controller which doesnt work (the ps button wont be detected). i tried with mouse and keyboard, doesnt work either.

So i want to change my 80gb hdd to a 500 gb one. Would i need to reinstall that, or wouldd i be fine not doing it.
