I'm trying to install the homebrew channel on my Wii u using the smash stack method so I bought a copy of brawl and I just realized it's NTSC say's RVL P RSBE USA, I'm in Australia so my console is PAL (it does run games with EUR on it) is there anyway I can get the virtual wii side of it to launch this game or am I out of luck?

but I thought you could place a PALL wii disk and click play, and quickly swap disk to the NTSC one!

that is possible, right?

Even if this is possible (which I highly doubt - never tried it myself), what is the point of replacing disk of your region with some other disk if you already own disk of required region?

You'll have to get a PAL copy to get smash stack to work.

Wouldn't that just damage the console ?

never do this to do that you would need to pen your wiiu and switch discs while rotating so you would damage the wiiu or even the disk, that doesnt work since ps1 days.
Yeah, that brings back some memories... On my launch unit of ps1 (SCPH-1001), I could boot into the cd player, put a US game and make it read the toc without closing the top lid (using a spring). After the TOC was displayed in the cd player, the disc stopped spinning. I would switch with a japanese game disc and press a button, and it would boot right away. :rofl2: That was fixed in the next iteration of the hardware.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
