GUYS, PLEASE LET NO HIJACK THE THREAD, for support go to https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.488277/ or the firmware Thread.

Ok well I need help I used to always use ChoiDujourNX but now it gives me an error when trying to run it so I'm using AIO I downloaded 18.1 but I need Daybreak Google says "it's included with Atmosphere" but it's not, and it's not on Atmosphere github. Where do I find Daybreak?
NEVER USE ChoiDujourNX on firmware upper than 6, for new firmwares you can use Daybreak included on Atmosphère and a dump <<legally>> obtained, you can dump it from another console or search it on google by example, the 18.0.1 rebootless have a id of c2ff465 or a MD5 hash of dfd91e2bc34ebf81897a2c65723ee396

Probably just those shitty Discord shops on tinfoil that you have to donate to huh?
Exactly!

I downloaded it off my usual website, it's legit, plus that website would not host it if it wasn't.
Sorry but that site once fall for the 6 hours video of I never let you down on another zelda release. happens even to the best of us.

No i don't like, trust, or use AIO updaters, rather do it manually myself. Thanks though. :grog:
Definitively you never should use AIOs, see the note above.

I see the usual sites have uploaded the update but not the game it's self which is strange

Think that's because they put the update on the eshop servers that people were able to grab. Hopefully the actual cart dump is released soon

actually the update is beginning to show online. the base file is still nowhere to be seen. Funny how release websites are just craving to yell "FIRRRST".

And then someone stream the game on discord after that something.zip file make an appearance, no one believe it at first.

I remember I said fk it and download the file when its only have like 50 downloads.
It's still on my computer right now haha

Retro handhelds aren't really hiding the fact they're just phones with a D-pad. It's all the same SOC, just with different applications.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Exactly. That's what I'm at least trying to point out.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the high-end SOCs are still expensive so they tend to use older stuff, leftover stock and so on.

  • Veho @ Veho:
So KTR is asking, will you guys spring for the Snapdragon,
or should we get some older cheaper chipset.
    +1
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
They probably thought to themselves that the latter would be the better option. Not only to make them easily affordable to produce and buy, but to retain the same performance to competitors.

After all, SoC is the same ones used in Android phones that were made for gaming.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Gen2 is obsolete and probably can get bulk for cheap

  • Veho @ Veho:
In the same way that a Raspberry Pi costs 30 dollars but a project involving a RPi costs at least $100, CPUs are cheap, everything else is a bitch.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
3d printing and repurposed screens got cheap so we get neat little devices out of last year's tech it's still a neat way to recycle

It went from involving nerds with degrees to buying little Jim's after school project

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think I spent like close to 300 all in on my Pi5 setup buuutttt depending on how you look at it that is super cheap, like per game or all the "Mini" consoles you would have to buy to get something close to it.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I just divided 5000 by 300 works out to 16.666666 cents per game lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah but some of those games aren't worth that much. I hope the others make up for it. :P
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you own no other devices and can find something that does up to switch for 300 the price makes up for it just for that then again a complete genesis can go for around 150 not including games
  • Veho @ Veho:
The Switch is the next big milestone.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah when Adreno 780m is more common on devices imo
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Or 680 iirc
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's interesting, you can get up to PSX with a $50 device, but if you want PS2/GC and so on, it's $150 minimum but $200 to be sure, and those devices can already play Switch.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Still better than 350 on a actual switch I'll take a few frame drops
  • Veho @ Veho:
I'm not disagreeing. It's just weird that if you can get PSX for $50, and Switch for $200, why can't you get PS2 for $100?
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Emulation is weird.
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean just take the fact SNES still isn't perfectly emulated.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ram chips are probably like $20 per 8gb?
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Dunno.
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Is RAM the bottleneck?
