Obviously it will make it better, but to answer your question, I don't think they've had a playable demo at any events yet.

He meant Mario Kart DS, not Mario Kart 3DS

Lol. Wow, I honestly didn't even read it. I should start doing that.

Edit:

My contribution to this topic: I played Metroid Prime: Hunters on my 3DS, and it made it easier to move.

Works great, the only thing I was disappointed about with DS games in general is that my router isn't recognised because of WPA2 security, in DS mode, it still only stuck using WEP or none.

It'll make the gameplay less painful on your thumb, that's for sure.

No extra sensitivity though; You're still going in those 8 directions.

Tried it out a few days after I got my 3DS. Definitely a lot easier to control. Metroid Prime Hunters, Custom Robo DS, and Animal Crossing also benefit from the analog control.

Mario Kart was the death of my DS phat like many N64 controllers before it... Eventually the R button and Dpad stopped working altogether. At first I didn't want to play it on the 3DS, but it's okay if you take it easy. The Dpad is a lot more durable than the DS lites, still not as good as the phat though. As for the analogue stick, it makes it feel better to drive but it's useless at a professional level. It would be like using the wii wheel in MKwii, huge disadvantage.

I tip my hat to anyone who can get a time like this using the analogue

Cool, thanks for the replies guys. I did indeed mean MArio Kart DS not the upcoming 3DS title.I probably should have mentioned that in the post instead of just the title. From the sounds of it, looks like the analog stick helps but does not function at full capabilities. Not surprised by this, MKDS was not programed to take advantage of analog controls.
