Some say the connector on the motherboard is not designed well that pushing on the SD card wears it down. It's my fear since I tend to swap between SD cards.
If you're concerned about it, which makes sense considering the number of people who've posted similar issues in the past, then you should avoid swapping cards. Get a big enough card and stick with it, and use ftp transfers, usb installs etc. The last time I removed my card from my Switch was when I set up Android on it sometime last year.

Also the sd card slot itself isn't the issue. Rather the connector on the motherboard.

Yep exactly - the SD slot itself and the board it's on would be easily replaceable, but as the damage occurs to the connections on the motherboard the only solution is repair by someone pretty capable, or a new motherboard/new Switch. Well worth avoiding.

If it is the connector on the motherboard that's damaged, then you'll have to pay someone to repair it. If you don't have access to someone experienced with repairing Switches, you can gather the info from this site and take it to a local mobile phone repair place. The cost shouldn't be too horrendous, would be worth it to save the Switch.

Hi sorry missed all your questions today! I have fixed quite a few switches with SD card slot issues and it has always been damaged pins inside the SD card slot itself causing the problem. It is honestly an easy and inexpensive fix and I would strongly advise you to purchase the part you need along with a tri-wing and small cross head screwdriver and either attempt the repair yourself or ask someone you trust who may have experience in opening devices to do it as opposed to sending it to Nintendo who could change parts in your console (or the entire console) that render it no longer exploitable. Good luck

Does anyone know a service in the UK that does this motherboard soldering?
I have a switch that is banned and the SD card is broken, I bough a replacement sd card but I can see that actually two connectors are missing on the motherboard and need soldering.
