If the PS3 roms are anything to go by than people will be jumping for joy when the internet bill is do.
Sign up for gamefly and use pkg ripper its what im doing to avoid copyright strikes.
I have Xfinity blast with 213Mbps and no data caps so switch your provider or rip them yourself, its all you can do.

Copyright strikes are not entirely the problem, its the fact that people think its smart to download one game torrent the size of a MMO stored on a server. Its outrages!

I think I understand where you're coming from (because I have seem some PS3 games trimmed in size a bit by deleting useless files such as other languages, etc)
but 50gb to 1gb? That's just crazy :P

That's simply not possible.

You can delete 3D videos and extra languages off off the disc rips.
You could even delete cutscenes from some games.
But compressing them to a gig in size, simply no.

I personally advise against messing around with the files.
Digital preservation point of view.

Game sizes have gotten stupid this gen. On xbox its even worse, especially Microsoft's own games.

If your ISP is either slow or cap happy your best bet is a rental service like mentioned above.

Games this gen have gotten bigger and more ambitious. If your internet is the problem, go physical.

That doesn't really work when more and more games keep having large day one patches, or worse still require a download to even work if you have the disc/cart.

As I said, the problem seems to be worse with the xbox this time around than the ps4, but theres games on both that have this issue.

Do the following steps to turn a PS4 game of 50 GB into a working dump of 1 GB.

1) Create a game that is only 1GB in size
2) Add unnecessary files to it until it adds up to 50 GB
3) Get Sony to allow you to release your game on the PS4
4) Dump the game
5) Rip out all the unnecessary files you added in step 2

There's another way to turn any huge PS4 game into 1 GB.
1) Take the .pkg of your game that is larger than 1 GB and open it in a hex editor of your choice
2) Navigate to 0x40000000
3) Select all the bytes including and following the address mentioned in step 3
4) Hit the del key on your keyboard and if there's a prompt coming up, confirm it
5) Save the results
This leaves you with a file of exactly 1 GB. It's not functional at all, but I didn't find anything in the OP about this being a requirement.
