Remember how we used to have to load Wii games from a USB Drive formatted in WBFS? Well someone was smart enough to write a program that can read the hard drive that was formatted in that state, because apparently Windows cannot. Now we are back in modern day where the Wii U formats it's USB drive in some format that is unknown to Wii U. Has anyone smart written a program that can read the USB drive in this formatted state? Better yet, not only that, but has a function to install WUPs to that formatted hard drive? That would be awesome. And if anyone is currently in the works on it, please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to help them as well!

WBFS was a proprietary format invented for Wii usb loaders, so it was not a "standard" filesystem but how it works is well known.
This is not true of the Wii U's WFS (which is also encrypted with part of the key coming from the console's eeprom, part being tied to the usb-sata adapter, part to the disk itself)

AFTER MANUAL DECRYPTING it's possible to use https://github.com/yellows8/wiiu_wfsmount; it can't be used directly on the external disk

Impossible. You also need to install the ticket on SLC for the application to actually work

Installing from SD to USB is already very fast anyway, copying from PC to SD may not be - but for most people it's much faster than going to a game store and standing in queue to pay, which is what 90% of people really care for anyway
If you just want to explore the contents, there's ftpiiu-everywhere and it works really nicely!!
