Just a while ago, Japanese magazine, Famitsu, revealed Harvest Moon: The Land of Origin, a new Harvest Moon for the Nintendo 3DS, slated for release in early 2012. Now, we have a few more details on the game.

The Land’s Origin will allow you to create your home and ranch from the ground up. You’ll be able to customize the interior and place objects where you like.

The protagonist you play as is customizable, too. You’ll be able to select both a male or female and customize their hair, skin colour, eye colour and clothes. Once the game is underway, you can even have your hairstyle changed by visiting a hairdresser.

Harvest Moon: The Land of Origin is slated for release sometime in early 2012.

I thought something like this would have already been in a Harvest Moon game by now.

Never really that into Harvest Moon, but I suppose I'll get it for my girlfriend since she is such a harvest moon freak. [IMG]

I like how the character design shows a more adult version of the characters.Probably getting this.(Haven't even started two towns yet).I hope you have more freedom in creating and customizing your farm.(especially the buildings)

Looks gorgeous. I can't wait for it [IMG]

Tale of Two Towns was a huge improvement on a lots of things, but it felt wrong on other things (days too long and too much stuff to do in a single day).

isn't that a good thing? i mean, one of my main gripes with all Harvest Moon titles i've played is that they usually have really short days, constantly sending you on a run trying to do many things. simplest way to say is "so much to do, so little time". slower time makes the pace less frantic, so i think it's a good change. it sucks missing an important, once-a-year event by less than a minute. it really does.

You're right, but I'm still in Summer (28) after HOURS and HOURS of playing [IMG] Every day feels like a real chore. That drains enjoyment from playing the day.
The request make it so that you can't EVER miss foraging, otherwise you're not gonna be able to complete them. So you have to take care of the farm, and then go on the mountains EVERY SINGLE day to forage, looking at the same screens over and over.

In FoMT days were shorter (and quite enough for most things). Yeah, I'm gonna compare every HM game with FoMT. FOREVER. [IMG]

Yay! This one is actually in 3D and they're not using the crappy Island of Happiness sprites! (I'm sorry, but I didn't like the sprites for that game or the future games that used them. They just seemed so...bland.) Hopefully it'll have Wi-Fi! [IMG]

it looks quite interesting but i think they focused more on the 3d than 2d.

look at that purple plant (eggplant?) and look at those cabbages. cabbages look like paper.

not bad actually. it seems customizability is a big thing in games like the batman fps, assassin etc
