I hate how arbitrary the starting of eid and ramadan have become, its entirely possible to determine the precise start/end of ramadan for the next 50 years using lunar cycle calculations but I guess traditions are hard to break.

Yeah, it's screwed up here in my city. The north side is following Saudi, and the south side is following the moon sightings....so half the city is doing Eid today, while the other half is doing Eid tomorrow. Since I live in the south side, I gotta do it tomorrow. Ahh well....I wish they would come up with a consensus....

I find that quite ironic considering Muslims shouldn't be dating. Dating is not permissible in Islam.
