A lot of people seem to think differently on this topic, I was wondering what you guys think.
Discuss your reason why you like one better than the other, why you don't like either of them, or why you like them both equally.

Any Half-Life is better than any Halo, including Blue Shift. Most Half-Life mods are better than any Halo, like They Hunger.

Halo is decent but its way overrated and apart from multiplayer doesn't really have anything to offer for me once finished. All Half-Life games though are always great to go back to and are the first person shooter equivalent to Zelda.

Half-Life series, no question. Halo has this decade's worst level design (remember the library? Ugh).

Half-Life, not a doubt in my mind.

The best singleplayer experience you can get!

I said I like them both equally, Half-Life for gameplay, Halo for the great story (counting the books).

I prefer Half-Life for sure, but I did have fun with Halo 3. Did the game on coop with a friend, and thought it was cool that I could watch us play it in movie form. See what my friends were doing when they were MIA in the battlefield, and see how they died and I died and whatnot. Surprised I hadn't heard more about that feature than I did before discovering it on my own.

IMO Half-Life obliterates the Halo series.

Half Life, and including Portal because it refers to Black Mesa, making it part of the HL universe

See that hole in your wall?
    Half-Life series hands down.
The original game was fantastic and ever since it has spawned so many great mods and spin-offs, from the earliest Counter-Strike to the totally pwning Portal. Of course the main line of HL games are amazing too and are getting better and better.

For the most part, Half-Life. But there's one critical issue that is pretty much used as a joke in Half-Life 2. Gordon Freeman is a scientist. And yet he just so happens to be a kick-ass one man army too? Kinda a tad weak there but for the most part, everything else is highly appealing to me. Including a bit of the new info about the G-Man in HL2 Ep2.

PS. Bought Halo 3 and The Orange Box. Why like only one when you can like both!

Maybe just not as great as Halo? People call it opinion. It's hardly valued these days anymore.

I personally love them both equally.

Same, i think Halo it's just overrated. Single player mode is just a normal fps, nothing special. Multiplayer it's ok, but i don't care about it.
Now i'm going back to HL2 EP2. [IMG]

Halo got me to read Larry Nivens ringworld series, and for that im grateful [IMG] But I also love Half-Life, and all the work they put into telling the HL story. One thing, I though HL ep2 was way too easy, atleast in normal mode. Gonna try hard later.
