Hacking Half bricked wii - Says 4.2U in the corner using a gc pad

Howdy everyone!

Half bricked wii, 4.2U with I use a gc pad to turn it on..
If I insert a SD Card, it power up to the heath screen sometimes.
I already got modmii... the bannerbomb doesn't work. Sometimes it freezes while loading sd card.
Also hangs when trying to access wii settings.

Any help?

Did you by any chance install prii/preloader ?? There is a hack that enables recovery mode.
Boot up your Wii and hold reset to see if you can get into the preloader menu.

Then disable the hack.

no bootmii, no priiloader.
I managed to boot it and loaded the bannerbomb from the sd using the sd menu.
Then, it hangs to black screen

Any thoughts?
I only have the board with working bluetooh and wifi modules... no drive attached to it so launching a disc isn't a option.

Used a CBOOT2 file that mauifrog sent me with syscheck.. and got a report.

What steps did you take, and where did it go wrong.

No info.. I dunno what they did to it. Poor board.. it's missing the eject already lol

Ok.. managed to load MMM

The only thing that seens to work is MMM
and it asks to run from ios 249...
I can load MMM and launch the hackmii installer?

loaded it..
followed the guide..

it gave me this error

Load MMM again and reload the ios to ios250. Then try to install those wads again.

Mauifrog: Already tried to reload it on ios250 and it stays in the reloading message forever.
I just tried to run anytitledeleter 1.1.. the one included in your cboot2 file crashes while telling to wii that he is his god hehehe

Download MMM-58-61_Hackmii_0.8_CB2.zip and extract the file to your sd card
Also have the private folder from the BB2 pack on your sd card
Delete sd:\startup.elf
Extract startup.zip to sd:\
Extract the elf file from bootmii booter to sd:\ and rename the elf file to boot.elf
Rename sd:\boot.dol to load.dol
Extract \wad\1IOS236.wad from the anywii app pack in chapter 2 to sd:\wad
Also extract the shop channel update wad from chapter 2 to sd:\wad

Run bannerbomb, bootmii booter should load which should load cboot2 loading MMM
Go to Wad Manager and install 1IOS236.wad
If the wad does not install, UNINSTALL the shop channel wad, then try to install 1IOS236.wad again. Then reload MMM to ios236, install 58 and 61 then run hackmii.

ATD will not work with your ios250, probably a base57.

Got Wadmanager to install IOS58 from that wad package you sent me to fix the other wii
I confirmed it by loading mmm... 58 is now installed

Should I go on and install IOS61 too?

You can just run the hackmii installer now that you have ios58. Then do the rest.

This has been my experience...missing/dead drive = erratic/no operation. My friend has a launch-day that won't even load the SM if the drive is missing.

Looks like mauifrog managed to unbrick it w/o a drive though...maybe some boards don't need drives.

Just load hackmii from MMM like my guide says. Hopefully when you reinstall your SM 4.1 your issue will resolve. Also, you can't jump from guide to guide, pick one and stick with it. I only have limited experience with modmii, so I don't know what your issue is with it, it should also work.
