Remove Kosmos from our download database
We have removed the "All-in-One Package" Kosmos from our download database and instead only offer hekate.
The problem with cosmos is big - it's an all-in-one package; i.e. Users pop it onto the SD card and know nothing about it. Nobody learns anything from that and that is not the meaning behind console modding. Most certainly don't even know that they actually run Atmosphère. In this respect, the distinction between the custom boot loader "hekate" and the custom firmware "Atmosphère" is extremely important. Hekate can only be configured to start Atmosphère, but it is not tied to it. This is like boot9strap and fastboot3DS - both are just bootloaders that start a FIRM (in most cases Luma3DS).
Another problem is that Kosmos comes with a lot of bells and whistles and then you have an FTP server and an amiibo emulation tool - but how many people are aware that these are separate projects, completely independent of the CFW? It is much better to configure your switch yourself from scratch, with all the system modules you want!
In addition, the updates always come with a time delay and then lag behind - many don't even know that they can simply update Atmosphère and hekate themselves without waiting for a Kosmos release. Of course I can explain the question, but then other users have the same problem that "their cosmos" does not work on firmware X.Y.Z or similar.
Of course, I don't want to offend the AtlasNX team, I appreciate their work. The past few months have shown me that it doesn't work - not on the team side, but on the user side. Therefore, we only host hekate with a boot loader configuration that can boot Atmosphère by default. Then all you have to do is copy Atmosphère and optionally the Sigpatches to the SD and everything is ready for use! We also host the Kosmos Toolbox, so nobody actually loses.
