Well, I've done my part on searching and looking up before posting, but I want to be exactly sure how to go about this.

I've got a virgin 4.0E Wii from my friend who wants it hacked. I've used to bannerbomb to install HomeBrew Channel. Now, how would I go about getting backups working and being able to install wads and cIOS etc.

Like, I've said, I've been looking up guides and so fourth, but I want to be exactly sure how to proceed in my situation.

    ~Thanks, Devvar.

Follow this Guide to install WADs on a Wii with system menu 4.0

At the end when it says that you can upgrade to cIOS Rev10 if you want, you should if you're using a SDHC, otherwise you won't be able to install WADs.

    All credit goes to piratesmack.

Using that allows installation of wads. Then how would I go about getting backup loading working?

WADS are sometimes required to install necessary IOS's to enable backup loading. Check out Softmii.org, its pretty foolproof as long as you read ALL instructions and repeat any steps that fail. Good luck

Sorry for the late reply but I'm afraid I can't help you on that one. Sorry.

DJTAZ is a good option, I was just making one suggestion. I think that its easy to follow for a 'NOOB'

    bazamuffin,
you don't have a bad idea, but guys at softmii tend to don't like noobs or answer to their problems.
myself i had it and don't care about it, it's good if you know what the hell your doing and you want your wii cute, myself i want my wii to work as I want

Valid point, there is a slight elite attitude to say the least. Also, I get what you mean about the pretty thing. Graphically the apps look good, but functionality can be glitchy.
