Actually I have a DSTWO as well and want to try this. Why? Because I have a very large and unhealthy obssesion with the Gyakuten/Ace Attorney series.

Anyway, great job kcaze, I'll try it out when I get a chance; I really appreciate all of the hard work.

+1 this. I get a hard on anytime I see Godot (thanks for the fuel, Machomuu. [IMG]) BEST. PROSECUTOR. EVAR.

I have been playing on my EZ Flash, though. Wanna keep this as close to faithful as the original experience as possible (GOD I am such a Purist).

FYI, works smooth as butter on... well, anything on the DSTWO.

Everything except for the ending sequence/epilogue thing is done now: http://www.mediafire.com/?1rm2qubj23wazl0

Schlupi: Wow [IMG], I can't believe that it didn't crash at all during the first 2 cases! I was pretty much fixing the overflow issues haphazardly since I didn't know exactly when the RAM overflowed.

Anyways, I'll start proofreading (Adding the finger choice things in) eventually and then start hacking the graphics.

Quick question, when I tested it out on VBA, it crashes after the intro cutscene of the case. ROM error or emulator?

Also, do I just repatch my previous copy of the ROM?

How did it crash? The wait time after the intro cutscene is actually way longer than it should be (a problem due to the method I used to inject the English scripts into the game).

As for repatching your ROM, you should repatch the original ROM.

I'm not 100% sure since I'm relatively new to ROM hacking (this is my first hack), but from what I understand of how IPS patches work though, you can repatch the previous copy of the ROM only if the new patch only adds new content (i.e. none of the old code was changed and new code is added in to expand the ROM).

Well, I held down the fast forward key for a while. Nothing.

    I might try again though.

You're right, tried it on the VBA, the VBA-M, and the Supercard DSTWO GBA emulator and they all froze there.

I just wanted to let who ever is working on this that I get a crash when trying to talk to Ms. Delite about KB security every time.
    Anybody else got this?

This is so cool! It feels so weird playing Phoenix Wright on a PSP! Works fine so far on there.

Do you think you could change the names in the first case though the official ones? It still has Dolores Willow and it should be Dahlia Hawthorne, and the other people too…

Oh, and "Ah! The Court Record! I think I can see that by touching the Court Record Button..." should be changed to say "by pressing the R Button".

Whoops. Sorry about the GK thing I was tired.

Yeah, I get a crash when in the intro for case 4 (when Phoenix is looking through the court cases, it crashes when Terry's face shows up.)

Oh, were we talking about the case 4 intro? I thought 8BitWaluigi meant the 1st case. I've just tested case 4 myself and ran into the same problem. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

As for changing the names, all evidence in the Court Record are actually graphics and I'll hack the graphics after making sure that the game itself is playable first.

I was referring to case 1, right after it fades out it freezes. No crash, just freezes.

I've fixed the problem with the intro of case 4: http://www.mediafire.com/?4rn9r1w3z5wvr5h
It seems the problem was that the VWF routine was not being called during that part. What this means is that the two pages of case files in the case 4 intro are still in Japanese. I'm not sure how to make those case files call the VWF routine Broco wrote, so unfortunately, those might have to stay in Japanese.

DarkShinigami: I haven't done any work on the first 2 games and currently have no plan to.
CompC: Changed the script regarding the Court Record.
Machomuu and 8BitWaluigi: I'm not quite sure why case 1 is crashing. I've tested it on vba-m on my linux computer and vba on my windows box and both seem to work fine.

On VBA AND VBA-M the first case now crashes in the intro. I am testing on my EZ Flash IV now as well, to see if the issue persists.

Bridge to the Turnabout's intro text for 4-3 is now a garbled mess at the end of the first line:

Also, everything after it is in Japanese again! Lol.

Case 5 now black screens after the intro sequence.

Starting Case 4 over now crashes in the intro now too, when it starts up.

EDITEDITEDIT: Now I have discovered ALL the cases crash upon starting up, and give this screen, some flickering:

Also, confirmed to have same crashes on the EZ Flash IV. I'll test it on my 3 in 1, EZ Flash III, M3 Perfect, and M3 Lite in a bit. I'm sure it won't work but it's worth a shot anyways. HAVE TO TEST THOROUGHLY yesyesyes.

Sorry about that, I forgot to reinsert the case 1 script because I took it out while testing the intro of case 4. http://www.mediafire.com/?r6ql39k3jjhp73o

Anyways, I've tested the intros of all 5 cases and they should all be fine now.

Also, could you tell me where that 4-3 line appeared? Did it happen after you resume a save in-game, because there are errors in Broco's VWF script so that some of the graphics are messed up after you resume in-game. As for the Japanese, could you type out the first few characters that appears so I can find where exactly it is?

In other news, I tried some graphics hacking and changed the profiles in the Court Record so that the correct names are used. I've also changed the font because I didn't know what font was used [IMG]
