could i use the pal dlc on ntsc wii and ghwt ntsc game?

Very unlikely, otherwise they wouldn't release both NTSC and PAL versions of each song.
The region of your wii probably doesn't matter. The region of the games DOES.

However, it contains less inherent flaws, e.g. sp turning to solos, purple note absence, hold down note absence (Where you hold a sustain then tap on other notes), 5 drums, bass notes, 2 types of vocal fill, but RB charts would theoretically transfer quite well to GH.

You can not use that ..... you have to use DLC Installer... not wad manger...

just grabbed the DLC Installer and a few DLC songs, and it works like a charm

Out of curiosity, what is the default IOS that the DLC installer is using for you ? I'm able to install the songs just fine, but when i go in game, i don't see them anywhere. Archive section is blank. Although i did install them from a usb flashdrive, instead of an SD card. Ftpii would take forever to transfer the files

Okay, quick update for everyone:

I've succeeded in extracting the individual tracks from a DLC song, and am in the process of converting them to OGGs to use in Frets on Fire. I should have the first few songs uploaded and posted on FretsOnFire.net later this evening sometime. Keep checking back!

Two questions:

1. What format were they originally in?
2. What will happen to slide notes, ect? I know that FOF does not use things like that.

And by the way, thanks.

I guess. But the problem still is reconstructing the ngc.qb

No, I'm pissed that other people are able to make posts using my login. None of my recently edited posts were really made by me.

Of course.
Actually he's not lying, I posted as him a few times

The individual tracks are from the .bik file, and had to be extracted individually as WAV files. As far as the notes go, I haven't looked at them yet. If anything, I'll just extract the tracks and make them available along with the ngc file, so that someone smarter than I can figure out the notes at a later date, if they can't be readily converted.

I can't believe people are complaining. Even if there isn't anything you like in the DLC, it's 200+ more options.

And I do think it's funny that this ending up beating RAWKSD to release. How fitting since they told everyone to go and figure it out for themselves. And you know what, someone did.

I don't see what's particularly funny about it. IIRC, Mrkinator and RAWKSD weren't going to release it anyways so it's not like they were racing to do it. They were doing it mostly as a proof of concept. If they wanted glory, they would've posted it and as long as it halfway worked and regardless of how buggy it was, they would've gotten it. He announced (bragged, whatever) that they deed it main, without releasing it should've expected the whining and insulting.

Someone else would've eventually done it, and if Mrkinator wants to say YOU'RE NOT DOING IT RIGHT, at this point the ball's in his court and he can either let the cat out of the bag to show us The Way or expect the jeers. Don't get me wrong, I'd take advantage of hacked DLC like a schoolgirl on roofies, but RAWKSD wasn't racing. *shrug*

I'm having the same problem.. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

What I have:
PAL Wii 3.1
PAL Guitar Hero World Tour
SD card with 2 bought DLC on it.
Wiikey (using normal channel to boot world tour)

I used the DLC installer and installed both the song and title (both PAL) succesfully. I can see the guitar hero save file on my Wii also increased in size. However, when I launch the game, none of the DLC I installed can be seen. When I go to archive, there is no sign of any DLC being on my Wii (or my SD card minus the 2 songs I already had and paid for).

both of which work well in potplayer

amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different

    Year not yard lol

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
