Update to new Wiiflow and install rev21 cIOS using a base of 38. Install it to another slot other than 249 if you want to keep rev17. Change the individual game setting to use the slot you intsalled rev21 base 38 too. Should load fine

No, but base 38 apparently has better compatibility with music games. Base 56 has better general compatibility.

Sorry, but it's actually 37 that has the best compatability with music games. Base 56 works as well, but I'm not sure if that one works with the microphone (haven't checked any d2x version for mike compatibility, for that matter).
EDIT: later posts have shown that base 56 is the better choice, so please take that instead. [IMG]

@samethernet: Triiforce MRC is indeed outdated. It may work with ciosX21d2x rev 3 (249 base 56), but it'd be accidental at best. Just switch to mighty channels. For that program, I can at least say that it has roughly the same compatibility (slightly better, even) as rev17.

One note, though: wiiflow is able to detect and use multiple cIOS'es (although it only shows the ones that are installed). So it might be a good idea to install other cIOS to other slots. In fact, my own setup looks like this:

    244: cIOSX d2x rev3 base 37
    245: cIOSX d2x rev3 base 38
    246: cIOSX d2x rev3 base 56
    247: cIOSX d2x rev3 base 57
    248: cIOSX d2x rev3 base 58 (or was this Waninkoko's? it's base 58 for sure)
    249: rev17

It may be a bit overkill (especially considering I use uneek or hermes 5 for most of my games), but my point is that no cIOS can play every game. Especially if you want to do things like emu-nanding. [IMG]

My bad, it is 37. I DO know this as I have 37 base for my GH/music games. Have no idea why I put 38. Thanks Wever

IOS56 is just the same as IOS37 but with an improved network module. Most music games since late '09 use 56.

Completely correct. Recommendations to use IOS37 for music games is old outdated advice. As stated, all the latest music games use IOS56 natively, i.e. they were programmed/designed to run with IOS56. Plus all the older music games that were designed to run with IOS37 also run perfectly with IOS56.
